One Wish

A man stumbles upon a lamp while digging in his backyard. He rubs the lamp and as expected a genie appears.
“My name is Ali and I will grant you one wish,” says the genie. “Consider your greatest desire and I will produce it for you.”

“I’m afraid to fly, but I’ve always wanted to take my wife to Hawaii,” the man said. “How about you build me a bridge?”

Ali thought and concluded, “I don’t think that’s a good idea. The ocean is miles deep and the distance is so long. There may not be enough natural resources to take on this trillion-dollar project. Not to mention the hurricanes and monsoons we’d have to think about.”

Since this wish would be so very difficult, Ali questioned the man, “Are you sure there isn’t anything else you would rather I do for you?”

The man paused and suddenly snapped his fingers. “I got it!” He said, “I’ve been married for ten years now, and I still don’t understand my wife. Do you think you could help me out with that?”

Ali’s response: “So do you want that highway one lane or two?”
