What About Your Friends

For a couple of weeks, I have been on my social media soapbox about loyalty. Whether you realize it or not, loyalty is the highest form of human connection, because it speaks to the deepest commitments. It says, “I am with you no matter how bad it gets, no matter how low you go.” It’s so good to know that you have people in your life that won’t drop you.

However great it is to be “in love”, love doesn’t mean much without loyalty. In the age of, Facebook friends, Twitter followers, and Instagram likes we are losing that sense of real deep human connection. We have traded deep meaningful human connect, for buttons and icons, text and images on a screen. In that world, no one has to be loyal. Just click that “unfriend” button and you’re done.

But King Solomon teaches us to “Never let go of loyalty and faithfulness. Tie them around your neck; write them on your heart. If you do this, both God and people will be pleased with you.” (Proverbs 3:3-4 Good News Translation)

Build good solid relationships and you will surely be blessed.
