Are You Fully Alive?

What was the last thing you did that made you feel fully alive?

For me it was Wednesday night. I was teaching a Bible Study class about Ecclesiology (which is just a fancy way of saying the doctrine of church, LOL) While explaining a particular point, I felt such a rush. You would have thought I was sky diving, or whitewater rafting. In that moment, I felt totally connected to my humanity. Not only that, I felt one with God. I don’t get that feeling everytime I teach or preach, but I do feel it often. I know that teaching God’s Word is my purpose, at least in this season.

If you can’t remember the last time you felt that, you aren’t really living. Most of us settle into the life we have to live. We go to jobs we don’t enjoy, to make money to pay for things we can’t afford, to impress people we don’t like. Many of us have met amazing people, and usually the thing that makes people amazing is this: amazing people are living fully.

Some of us actually find that thing that gives us that high on life feeling. If you haven’t, you’re cheating yourself. Your days are way too precious to waste away on the monotonous. The best way to connect yourself to that feeling is to connect yourself to the Lord. In Act 17, The Apostle Paul explains it like this:

” … God made us in all our diversity … allowing each (of us) to have (our) own time to develop, giving each (our) own place to live and thrive in (our) distinct ways. His purpose in all this was that people of every culture and religion would search for this ultimate God, grope for Him in the darkness, as it were, hoping to find Him. Yet, in truth, God is not far from any of us.For you know the saying, “We live in God; we move in God; we exist in God.” (vs. 26-28a, The Voice Translation)

You have but one life to live. Why not fully live it? Otherwise, you become nothing but the walking dead!
