There is something different about you. You’ve changed. People can’t quite put their finger on it, but it is definitely noticeable. “They” may not know exactly what has changed about you, because they had no idea you were in school. They had no clue you were attending the University of Life, and enrolled in its School of Hard Knocks.
All during this season, you have been learning how to handle certain types of situations, and particular types of people. Lesson after lesson, you were being empowered and equipped to go to the next level in your life. Some of it was tough, but you finally got to the end. At the end of every season of life is a test, and every test passed brings promotion. You’ve passed the test, and God has promoted you to the next level.
The interesting thing about going to the next level, is that when you first move to it, you still look like the last level. I work with elementary school students, and I noticed on the first day of school, that my third graders still looked like second graders to me. They had been promoted, even though I couldn’t recognize the change. Here I am, thinking it strange to see them walking with a third grade teacher, down the third grade hall; even though it was exactly where they belonged.
So it is with you. You have moved on to the next level in your life, and there are people who don’t recognize the changes you’ve been through. They are so used to seeing you operating in the last level, that this new level is strange to them. Some will eventually get used to it. But for those who can’t seem to wrap their minds around where you are now, this just may be the end of the road. Everyone can’t go with you to the next level, and that may even be a hard pill to swallow; but you know that I’m right. Some people you will just have to love from afar, because it can’t be like it was before. You have come to the end of the road, and you must let go.
