God is an infinite and  all powerful being. He is far too big and complex for any mind to fully understand, so it would be arrogant of anyone, including me, to say they know the mind of God. We cannot fully comprehend Him, we can only know what God has revealed.  (more…)

I hate to say it, but reality is relative. We all have our own variations of what is real and what is not, and we subsequently live in response to the reality we choose. Where there was once absolutes surrounding things as fundamental as gender identification, we now live in a culture where all those concrete concepts are now being broken up, and we get live in our own relative realities.  (more…)

 

One of the biggest criticisms of Christian faith, especially among the African-American community is the “pie in the sky,” “sweet by-and-by” concept of heaven and eternal life. It’s argued that white slave masters taught black slaves this principle of Christendom in order to control the slave population; as to say, “if you obey me, I’m not going to pay you, but God will when you make it to glory.”  (more…)

Last night, after church, my kids and I were riding through the city. I had discovered a new song by an artist that my kids love, so I put it on, so they could hear it. When the beat drops, my youngest son immediately goes into the familiar cadence of “hey … hey … hey”, found in a lot of today’s music, with his hands waving the air, then dropped into a full “milly rock”.
